This New Year’s Eve, bring your family to Sir Winston Churchill Square and City Hall Plaza to celebrate the arrival of 2024 at the City of Edmonton’s New Year’s Eve Downtown Festival and Fireworks. The event is free and will take place on Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 6:30 PM to midnight.
The festival will feature two fireworks shows, one at 9 PM and another at midnight, both of which will last approximately 12 minutes. The fireworks will be launched over the pyramids of City Hall, creating a stunning display in the night sky.
The festival will also include a variety of exciting performances. Our emcee Ron Walker will guide you through the night, introducing musical performances by Martin Kerr, Dahlia and The Villains, Curt Sipihoko Paskwawimostos, and Métis fiddler Darla Daniels. You can also enjoy fire performances by FloWarrior, along with roving jugglers and acrobats. Carolers from Korora will fill the City Hall Plaza with festive favourites everyone knows and loves.
Don’t forget to bring your skates and take a spin on the City Hall Plaza ice rink to music by DJ Busyrawk. Free skate rentals and skate aids will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and the skate change room will be open from 6 PM to midnight (weather and ice conditions permitting).
